You've probably heard of the Law of Attraction by now...it's found it's way into pop culture, and has become so popular that the kids at Coachella throw it around along with terms like 'the universe' and 'manifesting' to the point where it's almost annoying. We get it...but understanding this principal can be extremely beneficial whether your a 'cool' millennial at a music festival or just trying to improve your life.

What is the Law of Attraction?
Simply put, the Law of Attraction means that what you think and feel internally will be experienced by you externally. The Universe can be likened to a mirror; whatever thoughts/feelings you are emitting will be reflected back to you through the perception of your external reality. The Law of Attraction ensures like attracts like, what you think you manifest—you are creating by virtue of what you are paying attention to.
How does it work?
Have you ever craved a certain type of food like spaghetti? You think about how much you enjoy eating it, the taste, how comforting it is and the memories of grandma serving it to you. Then you put it out of your mind and go on with your day, hours later you see a commercial for an Italian restaurant on TV, while your at the grocery store they have a sale on pasta, later on at a friends dinner party they serve spaghetti. Coincidence? Nope. That's the Law of Attraction in action.
You thought about something, it turned into a desire, you put emotional energy into the thought and you let it go, and the Universe delivered your desire in multiple ways. You've experienced something like this—everyone has. However, most of us are unaware of circumstances like this, wanting to eat a certain food is just one thought among millions that we have throughout our day, the advertisement on the TV is just background noise, and when we get to the grocery store we're so busy and focused on what we have to do we miss the sale on pasta, and by the time we get to the dinner party and get to enjoy the spaghetti we're so tired and focused on a new desire that we completely forgot that we had the intention to eat that food in the first place.
Are you getting it? Is it coming together?
Why is it important?
Knowing that you create your own reality is huge, for obvious reasons. The Law of Attraction is at the heart of all spiritual practices and honestly most religions—it's usually just worded in different ways, but the core principals are there. Sure, understanding the Law of attraction can be beneficial in helping you manifest a new car, a better job, more things, but it can also be the catalyst for expanding your spirit. Once you jump down the rabbit hole of this topic it's hard to stop—and honestly why would you want to? There's so much to explore, how the Universe works, quantum physics, how/why we think and feel, the conscious/subconscious mind...really the Law of Attraction is just the tip of the iceberg.
